Have you ever wondered what would happen if two legendary shows would melt into one another?

Apparently, the creators for "Supernatural" (Eric Kripke) and "The Shield" (Shawn Ryan) have teamed up to bring a new show to broadcast television network NBC and there is a lot of buzz going around about it.

In no uncertain terms, Kripke and Ryan have aligned their talents and brought to fruition a time travel series that has sparked a lot of interest, according to Deadline. So much interest in fact that it started a bidding war between the Big 4 broadcast networks NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox. But in the end, it was NBC who won out.

In theory, time travel shows and films have been torn apart by the gaping plot holes left behind. Most notably with cause and effect. That, of course, is what left a gaping hole in the original "Terminator" film, given that a man from the distant future came back and fathered a boy who would eventually grow up to be his leader in the future and send him back in time to protect his mother. So many plot holes were evident in that story that they were just begging to be picked apart.

But Kripke and Ryan have taken a stalwart approach to the series and established a set of rules that apply to the time travel principle. In theory of course.

In the series, the show will feature an unlikely trio of heroes who make the journeys through time for the sole purpose of protecting history. So rather than being the people who change history, they are people who keep it the same. This of course lends credence that they are not leaving plot holes in the story.

In their travels, they will be dueling with unknown criminals. The details of the criminals have not been released yet, but it is safe to assume that they are the ones who travel through time and attempt to change the historically pre-ordained.
