Lamar Odom is shaking off his divorce to Khloé Kardashian by getting himself back onto the basketball court -- but not in the United States.

The 34-year-old reached an agreement to sign a contract with Spanish team Laboral Kutxa, according to multiple reports. Odom is hoping to rejuvenate his career and make a potential return to the NBA, if all works out.

Odom might be in the NBA right now if it was not for such a rollercoaster ride of an offseason. The veteran NBA star endured a rather bumpy journey after the 2012-13 season as he found his name plastered on news headlines for all the wrong reasons. After numerous reports indicated that he was struggling with a drug relapse, everything started to fall apart. He was arrested for DUI in Los Angeles and then he went through a well-publicized divorce with Kardashian.

The star has remained mostly quiet ever since the summer and the last time he posted on Twitter was in September, when he posted a very emotional message about his strained relationship with his father. His father had spoken out about the couple's marriage and Lamar wanted to clear the air.

"...I have let this man and many others get away with a lot of [stuff]. He wasn't there 2 raise me," Odom wrote. "He was absent ALL of my life due to his own demons. My mother and grandmother raised me. Queens raised me. For the first time since they left, came a blessing of a FAMILY that I married into. FAMILY."

What do you think about Odom's decision to play abroad? Do you think his marriage with Kardashian was a factor in this move or do you think it has to do with him having to prove himself in order to make a return at that age? Let us know in the comments section below.
