Bundesliga Schedule, Table & Standings: Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen Eyeing 3-0 Record
Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen will look to stay perfect when they see action in Week 3 of the 2015-16 German Bundesliga season this weekend.
Bayern Munich vs. Bayer Leverkusen
Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen are both perfect after two games, but one of them could taste their first defeat on Saturday, when they collide at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.
Bayern Munich kicked off their season with a bang, as they scored a 5-0 win against Hamburg. They were challenged in their second assignment this season, but they still managed to eke out a 2-1 win over Hoffenheim in Week 2.
On the other hand, Bayer Leverkusen also scored a 2-1 win against Hoffenheim during their season opener, which was followed by a hard-earned 1-0 victory over Hannover.
Based on their performance in their first two games, Bayern Munich are tagged as favorites, but coach Pep Guardiola is wary of Bayer Leverkusen. Their opponents are coming off 3-0 win against Lazio in the Champions League playoff, and Guardiola believes Leverkusen are also a big threat to their title campaign this season.
"Bayer are big rivals for the Bundesliga title," Guardiola said during a news conference. "They don't give you any time to consider. We're going to have to let the ball do more running than our legs. They are a special team - very intense."
Borussia Dortmund vs. Hertha Berlin
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund are tipped to stay on top of the standings, as they are favored to win against Hertha Berlin in their Week 3 matchup on Sunday at Signal-Iduna-Park.
Borussia Dortmund scored 4-0 victories against Gladbach and Ingolstadt, respectively. Hertha Berlin, on the other hand, started the season with a 1-0 win over Augsburg before settling for a 1-1 draw against Bremen.
