The Knicks have expressed interest in re-acquiring star point guard Jeremy Lin, according to Chad Ford of ESPN.

The rumors started circulating earlier this month and now they are seemingly becoming a reality. The former Knicks star saw his name appear in the rumor mill several times last season but this year the Houston Rockets have mainly been rumored to be shopping only one player, disgruntled center Omer Asik.

CBS Sports' Ken Berger reported that the Rockets are indeed shopping Asik around the league and the team is reportedly in talks with the Philadelphia 76ers, and despite the fact that trade talks have seemed to be never-ending, Berger said that the talks between the two squads have been "serious."

Despite the rumors swirling around Asik, his teammate could end up being on the movie before him. It is somewhat surprising that Lin has not been involved in more trade talks considering the fact that he has not had the significant role he used to have despite his $15 million price tag for next season.

The big question with this becomes: Will the Knicks pay Lin that kind of money? Even if the star returns to New York, we would be hard-pressed to see a series of events reminiscent of Lin's sudden, but quick and magical burst to fame as a member of the Knicks just a couple years ago.

With that being said, Lin is averaging more than 13 points per game in his 2014 campaign along with 4.5 assists per game. Maybe that does not necessarily live up to the expectations attached to his salary, but it is still decent nonetheless.

What do you think about these trade rumors? Do you think the Rockets should ship Lin to avoid the hefty price tag or do you think they should focus on getting rid of Omer Asik first? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
