Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello Dating Rumors: 'Stitches' Singer Address Rumors, Attend VMA After Party Together [Watch]
Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes further fueled rumors that the two stars may be a couple by showing up to the Republic Records MTV Video Music Awards after-party together, even though Mendes denied the rumors during the pre-show.
According to Billboard, the two teens were spotted arriving at the after party together and posed for several pictures as well. The two stars were later spotted leaving the party and getting into the same car together. Cabello's Fifth Harmony group mates did not attend the party.
While on the Video Music Awards carpet, Mendes was interviewed by Hollywire and was asked to discuss the rumors that he is dating the Fifth Harmony member.
"Me and Camila are very good friends," said Mendes. "She's amazing. She's just so funny and so awesome and so enthusiastic. Like she will bring any negative situation and just make it positive, which is very cool."
During the interview, Cabello showed up and interrupted Mendes. Cabello was excited to learn, from the Hollywire reporter, that Mendes was talking about her.
"No way. What were you saying? Good things I hope," said Cabello, who explained that she is teaching Mendes Spanish and he is teaching her to play guitar, confirming that they spend a lot of time together in the process.
Soon after, Cabello's Fifth Harmony group mates came forward and also interrupted the interview. Ally Brooke Hernandez asked Mendes to talk a little bit of Spanish, diverting the attention away from the relationship rumors, before eventually being forced to leave by security.
Mendes and Cabello began rumors of a possible romance between them with a series of flirtatious tweets about her teaching him Spanish and by revealing that they text each other at night.
Cabello told Mendes that he would learn Spanish fast because he had an incredible teacher, referring to herself.
