After this week's game of cat and mouse, "Extant" will air a double dose of the electrifying sci-fi drama to officially end the Season 2 run.

Episodes 12 and 13, titled "Double Vision" and "The Greater Good" respectively, will air on CBS Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., according to TV Guide.

One thing that you can be sure of is that this season will not end without a bang.

In the first episode of the night, Molly finally gets through to the GSC and reveals the real circumstances surrounding Shepherd's death. Given that Fiona and Lucy have created a wider circle around their plans, this will likely not go over so well, according to Spoilers Guide.

But is was Lucy who feels the need and ambition to reinvigorate herself following her romantic deception this week by Charlie. She makes a move that is so powerful, that humans and hybrids alike will feel the pinch. That may also include a devastating event with global consequences as well.

In "The Greater Good," the action becomes even more dire and the fate of the human race is now on the line. Molly and JD, who were both last seen in the grip of a strong romantic relationship, will essentially be racing against time to stop the plot of the Humanichs to destroy all human life.

This episode also unfolds on a different front that involves Lucy and Ethan. Lucy has come to a shocking realization that puts her at odds with the GSC. So much at odds against them that she even questions her allegiance to them, which will essentially put Ethan at risk.

The real question is whether or not Molly and JD can put that amulet they got from Calderon to good use or not. They've come too far and lost too much for it to fail them now.
