Katy Perry New Song 2014: Dark Horse Music Video Released, Watch It Here [VIDEO]
After her successful hit "Roar," Katy Perry once again transforms herself into a tough female figure in her latest visual for "Dark Horse" featuring Juicy J, where she channels her inner Cleopatra.
The modern day version of Ancient Egypt opens with the message, "Memphis Egypt a crazy long time ago." The colorful music video is full of digital effects, multiple lavish costumes, and elaborate makeup.
The 29-year-old singer is first seen relaxing on a boat in the Nile River as male slaves dance around her. A man with an eye patch then offers Perry a massive diamond at her exotic court in the desert. After examining the gemstone, she licks her lips as she burns the man into a pile of dust with her laser-eyed throne. She takes the fallen diamond and puts them in her mouth for a glittering grill.
The "Unconditionally" singer shows off her pole dancing skills in her gold ensemble, as well as is seen nearly nude in silver body paint as she cuddles with a bunch of golden snakes. The evil Egyptian queen is fed delicious goods by her subjects, and after a pepper burns her mouth, she electrocutes a pudgy man with lightning from her hands.
Katy Perry's lyrics well describe her man-eater image in the visual, where she slays men with her magical powers. "Make me your Aphrodite / Make me your one and only / But don't make me your enemy, your enemy, your enemy," she sings. "So you wanna play with magic / Boy, you should know what you're falling for / Baby do you dare to do this? Cause I'm coming at you like a dark horse."
