As "Ray Donovan" approaches the end of its third season, it’s getting harder and harder for the Donovan clan to have normal lives.

In episode 9 of season 3, titled “The Octopus,” an attempt to draw Mickey (Jon Voight) out of hiding ends up interfering with Brendan "Bunchy" Donovan's (Dash Mihok) wedding plans.

A teaser for the upcoming episode shows that the authorities have enough info on Mickey to put him away for 10 years. That is, if they can get his son Brendon to talk.

Brendon is taken away, and Ray (Liev Schreiber) makes a droll crack about the groom not being able to make it for the wedding photos.

If Mihok looks convincingly like a man with a lot of control over what he will or will not say, that might come from a lifetime of practice. The 41-year-old actor recently spoke to People Magazine about his struggles with Tourette Syndrome, a neurological disorder characterized by involuntary movements and vocalizations.

The actor recalls having to shake his head violently as a child to make the feelings he was experiencing go away. "The tic was to shake my head violently. I had to feel the whip of my hair. When you're 6, it's a strange feeling," he said.

Mihok describes the condition as "the greatest itch you've ever had, times 5000.”

In an effort to bring a better understanding of the disorder to the public, Mihok has become a national ambassador for the Tourette Association of America.

Looking toward the day when understanding of the disease is common, Mihok says, "I would love for the future to be, you come into a new school and you see a kid in a corner who's twitching and you don't blink an eye."

"You just go, 'Oh that kid has Tourette's, and that's cool,'" he says.

“Ray Donovan” airs Sept. 6 on Showtime.
