'The Good Wife' Season 7 Premiere Spoilers, Synopsis: Alan Cumming Says Eli Gold's 'Head Explodes'
There will be lots of drama in Season 7 of "The Good Wife" as Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) steps up to support her husband's presidential campaign. Meanwhile, Alan Cumming revealed that Eli Gold's "head explodes."
During an interview with Deadline, Cumming opened up about what fans can expect in the new season of the CBS drama, teasing that his character will be "opening up a can of whoop-*ss."
The series star went on to say that once Peter Florrick (Chris North) launches his presidential campaign, "Eli's head explodes in Season 7, but not in the way you all may think." He added, "The episodes we've shot so far are the most fun I've had playing him in all seven seasons."
The Emmy-nominated actor went on to say that he loves when his character "drops his pants and asks people to kiss his *ss. It doesn't really get much better than that, though he hasn't done it for a few seasons - hint, hint!"
Fans can also expect to see an influx of guest stars and recurring actors in the upcoming season, including "Saturday Night Live" veteran Jane Curtin, who has been cast as Judge Farley, reports E!. Mo Rocca will also reprise his role as journalist Ted Willoughby. Meanwhile, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast to play an investigator.
Furthermore, a new photo from Season 7 suggests that Alicia will put her best foot forward as she supports her husband in his campaign.
According to CarterMatt, the synopsis for the season premiere reads as follows:
"Alicia (right Julianna Margulies) attempts to revive her struggling law career by representing arrestees seeking release on bail in bond court, where she meets attorney Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo), who competes for her clients. Also, Peter (right Chris Noth) brings in national strategist Ruth Eastman (Margo Martindale) to help with his Presidential campaign, and creates an interesting dynamic with Eli in the process."
The new season of "The Good Wife" kicks off on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
