"Keeping Up With the Kardashians" executives are footing the bill for a new team of bodyguards recently hired by Khloe Kardashian following what she described as a frightening early-morning run-in with ex-husband Lamar Odom.

Radar Online reports show officials made the decision to bring in added security after Kardashian encountered her ex outside the Beverly Hills Soul Cycle as film cameras rolled earlier this summer.

A source added the scene will now absolutely be part of a storyline during the upcoming season.

"Khloe didn't want to pay for a bodyguard out of her own pocket when she wasn't filming, but she hasn't been alone since the incident with Lamar," said the source.

Word is Kardashian feels totally safe when she's at home because not only does she live in a gated community but her estate is also behind gates. The property is also equipped with countless cameras, and her brother Rob and new NBA boyfriend James Harden are often there with her.

Tensions between Kardashian and Odom have been boiling ever since the episode, which left Kardashian claiming she was ambushed and had nothing to say to her ex.

Meanwhile, sources close to Odom insist the meeting was no ambush and Kardashian had no reason to feel afraid.

While admitting that the ex-NBA star is not thrilled that Kardashian is now dating Harden, a source added of Odom, "He knows their marriage is over, and it's just a matter of time before the divorce becomes finalized. He is moving on, and is no threat to Khloe's safety."

Kardashian and Odom were married for four years before she first filed for divorce in late 2013. The proceedings languished for over a year before either side made any attempt to move things along.
