You can call San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh many things, but don't ever call him a traitor. The 2011 NFL Coach of the Year and 2012 NFC Champion is a guru when it comes to motivating players and raising expectations. Yet, according to Pro Football Report, the San Francisco 49ers wanted to trade their head coach to the Cleveland Browns for draft picks! Unbelievable.

Think some high draft picks are worth a fiery coach like Jim Harbaugh? Think again... Before Harbaugh arrived the 49ers record on the field reflected poorly on their city and its great fans. They'd been so far removed for the glory days of the 80s and early 90s that they really did live up to their name in one aspect: they played with 49 percent heart. They didn't make the playoffs for eight straight years between 2003 and 2010. Since Harbaugh arrived the team has made the playoffs each and every year.

Now the team is rolling. With a 12-4 record and a regular season victory of the 13-3 Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks they are arguably the second best squad in the NFL.

All that considered it seems odd that a trade would be explored. Cleveland Browns officials neither confirmed nor denied that they were looking into hiring Harbaugh as their head coach.

"The team conducted an extensive coaching search, and explored several options," the Browns said in a statment released Friday. "That search produced an outstanding head coach in Mike Pettine and we're excited about his future with the club."

Harbaugh also downplayed the report, basically calling it baseless.

"The report? Ridiculous. Ridiculous. No. Ridiculous," Harbaugh told CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco on Saturday morning as he walked into Lucas Oil Stadium to watch combine workouts.

Of course, no one in their right mind would talk about a deal after it broke down. Harbaugh kept denying the Pro Football Report story.

"For the record, I echo Jed York's [CEO of the 49ers] comment...'isn't true.' I know nothing about a trade with the Cleveland Browns and us involving me," Harbaugh told CSN Bay Area.

'Nuff said?
