‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Season 3 Spoilers: Will Jake and Amy Work Out?
Last season on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," fans finally got what they had been expecting with Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero). The season ended with them finally sharing that romantic moment that involved a kiss. But does that mean that they will officially be together next season on the show?
According to TV Line, that is the big question for fans right now. What will happen to their relationship? Will it take off like fans have always wanted and come to expect?
Well, the short answer is yes and the long answer is maybe. Jake and Amy have the necessary chemistry that it would take for the relationship to blossom, but they work together and they have highly evolved competitiveness in the workplace that could put them at odds.
Showrunner Dan Goor sat down with TV Line and gave them a few insights into the Jake and Amy situation for next season.
"Our philosophy all along has been to try to deal with this [relationship] as realistically as possible," Goor told TV Line.
Realistic is an interesting word to use for the situation given all the possible turmoil that could evolve from their working relationship. Partners in life as opposed to partners on the job. Those two situations could clash.
"These are two people who clearly have a chemistry together and clearly like each other, but are both highly competitive and who work together," Goor said.
"We're picking up right where they left off -- where they kissed -- and they have to first figure out what that means and what they want to do going forward, given the constraints of working together, in a fishbowl."
There will also be the new interactions that will take place when Bill Hader guest stars on the show as the new Captain for the precinct, so only time will tell how much of a monkey wrench that could put into their relationship as well, considering he will be portrayed as a lunatic.
