Zayn Malik was reportedly the one who broke his engagement with Perrie Edwards over text. Now, according to a source, he is again making the first move to win her back. The ex-couple may be up for a reunion if Perrie succumbs to the singer's charms once again.

A source told Reveal magazine (via Mirror UK) that the former One Direction singer has been trying to win back Perrie's charms through text. He has reportedly been communicating with the "Little Mix" singer just months after he ended their engagement in July.

"He's been sending sentimental messages ever since, talking about their close bond and all the fun they had. He's texting Perrie and trying to keep his options open until he works out what he wants," the source said.

According to the source, Zayn's tactics to win Perrie back also includes making her jealous. So he has been hanging out with Burberry model Neelam Gill.

"Zayn is basically playing the two women off each other," the source told Reveal magazine.

However, Perrie reportedly showed little interest over her ex-fiancé's dating status since their breakup, so Zayn took it upon himself to text Perrie that he and Neelam are just friends. The source told the publication that Zayn texted Perrie, explaining the real status of his relationship with Neelam.

"Zayn said, 'I don't want to hurt you, Neelam is just a good friend. We are not as close as everyone is saying," the source further told Reveal magazine.

However, it seems Zayn's attempts to win back Perrie's affections are not working. The source told the publication that Perrie does not even care about his texts since she "knows from past experience that Zayn wants her more if he thinks he can't have her back." It's believed Zayn is not giving up hope and the more Perrie pushes him away, the more determined he becomes to win her back.

Perrie has been putting on a brave face since her split from Zayn in July. She had appeared on a couple of interviews with a big smile on her face, showing everyone that she's feeling alright despite the heartbreak.

In her interview below with E! News, Perrie says she's "good" when asked how she's doing following the split. She also said the same thing during "Little Mix's" appearance at the "The Late Late Show" in August. In the video below, Perrie is seen getting a hug from show host James Corden before saying "she's good" following her split from Malik.
