Fans of the "Daredevil" series streamed via Netflix, are very eager to know what will happen with Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox) in season 2. While the show is not airing yet, here are the information and news about it so far.

New ally

The second season of the Marvel Television-produced series may be slated for release in early 2016, per Movie Pilot, and will feature another friendly face for the show's blind lawyer and bold superhero.

Stephen Rider of "The Butler" will join the cast and his role is something familiar to avid readers of the Marvel comic books, Deadline announced. Rider reportedly will portray a character named Blake Tower, who is a "District Attorney for New York City." The actor who also appeared on "Lucky 7" will aid Murdock regarding some "information to help track down and capture criminals."

New villain

It's great news that Murdock will have a new ally in Tower, aside from Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), especially because a new villain is coming to Hell's Kitchen.

Marvel announced that "The Walking Dead" and "Fury" actor Jon Bernthal will be seen as The Punisher/Frank Castle next season.

Marvel's Head of Television Jeph Loeb teased the viewers by saying that Bernthal will provide more spice, as expected, into the show.

"Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences. Castle's appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same," Loeb said in a statement.

Photos of Bernthal while shooting posted on Just Jared and his Twitter post are rather convincing evidence that he will definitely make an impact on "Daredevil."

New love interests

Will Murdock and Page date this second season? This may be what the recent set photo shared by a fan via Twitter is hinting, with the two stars seen holding hands while shooting in New York.

Although some may be excited about it, others are expecting the Greek girl, Elektra (Elodie Yung), who is announced to be in the show via "Daredevil's" Twitter account, to be Daredevil's love partner. Actually, they may have been anticipating her since they watched the episode titled "Nelson v. Murdock." In that episode, during a flashback scene, Nelson already dropped a clue about her, according to What Culture.

"The Greek girl...whatever happened to her? She was smokin'," Nelson asked Murdock in the episode.
