DC Projekt RED, the developer behind "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," has released new details about the new "Heart of Stone" expansion. Developers have also revealed the DLC release date together with a teaser into what's in store in expansion.

DC Projekt RED on its official YouTube page for "The Witcher" announced the "Heart of Stone" expansion will be released on Oct. 13 for the PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One.

The new "Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" downloadable content will reportedly introduce new characters, 10 hours of exciting new adventures as characters battle new powerful monsters in an interactive gameplay, where the storyline and finale are developed based on the character's/gamers' choices. According to the developers, the "Heart of Stone" expansion will also contain a unique romance.

According to IGN, the expansion puts Geralt of Rivia back to the town of Oxenfurt to finish a seemly impossible task of killing an immortal bandit captain named Olgierd von Everec. Gamerant says Geralt had struck a deal with someone called "The Man of Glass" to kill Olgierd.

IGN adds the "Witcher 3" "Heart of Stone" expansion pack will also allow Geralt or the gamers to recruit his team of break-in artists and let Geralt party with a ghost. It's believed the expansion also includes new and bizarre creatures. A new screenshot of the downloadable content is shared by IGN on its website.

DC Projekt RED reportedly plans to release a limited box edition of "Heart of Stone" which will retail for $19.99. IGN says the limited edition will contain a couple of actual Gwent cards, a digital code for the "Witcher 3" and a rulebook.

IGN adds the physical deck of cards will be available for purchase separately at Redeegwent.com for those who have already bought the "Heart of Stone" expansion. The cards however will only be available in specific regions. Details such as retail price and purchase locations have yet to be revealed.

Talking to fans of the game on social media, Marcin Momot, Community Lead & Website Coordinator at CD Project RED, has also provided some details about the quests in "Heart of Stone."

In a series of Twitter exchanges with his followers, Momot said the expansion pack will require "Witcher 3" players to be above Level 30 to do the quests. Players who have yet to reach that level can still participate in the missions included in the expansion.

He also addressed fans' questions about the availability of the Gwent cards and some details about the H0S gameplay in the "Heart of Stone" expansion for "Witcher 3."
