The streaming rights for "Supernatural" are now up in the air with its Season 10 still stalling in the negotiations process between the CW network and Netflix. In the past, every season of the show has been available on the streaming buffet giant after the season aired on the broadcast network. But now, according to Deadline, that contract is in jeopardy.

To be able to understand why, you need to know the history of the agreement between the CW and Netflix. Back in October of 2011, the network was in dire need of some help. It was almost to the point that it was about go under if they did not do something fast. So instead of bracing for the impact of a possible shutdown, they went on the offensive and signed a contract with Netflix that would last for four years.

But now, the network has rebounded from its previous decline, and they have making major strides in the television market, gaining new audiences and adding major hit shows that include a few DC Comics projects. That means that they are heading into the Netflix negotiations this October with more power.

What does that mean for "Supernatural" Season 10? Well, the biggest thing it means is that the show may not make it to the streaming platform. It may also mean that it will but could be delayed until well after the premiere of Season 11, which starts on Oct. 7.

There have been some rumors that Netflix is interested in extending the agreement with the CW, but it is too early to tell how or when that may come.

The new deal with have to emerge soon, if fans want shows like "Supernatural" or "The 100" to continue their previous season debuts on the platform. Other hit shows like "The Vampire Diaries," "Gossip Girl" and "One Tree Hill" are also in jeopardy, should the negotiations fall apart.
