More downloadable content (DLC) for Mortal Kombat X has been hinted at on Twitter by Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon, and now it has been officially confirmed by developer NetherRealm Studios, China Topix reports.

On Sept. 3, NetherRealm Studios confirmed that a second Kombat Pack would be coming:

"Today Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed that NetherRealm Studios is developing new downloadable content (DLC) for 'Mortal Kombat X,' the bestselling game of 2015 to-date according to US NPD. The new content will include four new playable characters, skins and a new environment, all of which will be available in the first half of 2016."

A second Kombat Pack that includes four new characters is expected sometime in the upcoming months. This second Kombat Pack would be a season pass that would include four separate character releases just like the first Kombat Pack.

In Kombat Pack 1, players were given the characters of Jason Voorhees, Tanya, Predator and Tremor. It also included special character skins for the existing characters.

It would make sense that Kombat Pack 2 would include the playable characters of Cyrax, Baraka, Rain, Smoke and Sektor. These characters have appeared in previous Mortal Kombat games, and players are guessing that they will make an appearance in Mortal Kombat X.

Users on Twitter have also been guessing that the female character Sindel would be added as a playable character in the upcoming DLC. Sindel appears in the Story Mode, but her character is not just a basic enemy. Instead, Sindel's character is fully refined with plenty of moves and fighting styles. Turning her into a playable character would not be hard.

Boon has tweeted out pictures of a moon, according to iDigitalTimes. This might mean he is trying to hint at the inclusion of Nightwolf in Mortal Kombat X. Nightwolf first appeared in Mortal Kombat 3.

Like the first Kombat Pack, Kombat Pack 2 will cost $29.99 and will include all of the characters and skin packs.
