For all the twist and turns that came about on season 2 of the hit sci-fi series "Extant" on CBS, the finale is what made the most sense, as well as the least sense.

According to TVLine, that is all a matter of perspective.

There is one thing that happened that set off the final moments of the show's climatic scenes and that was the fake Molly clone that had shot JD. But it was the real Molly who came to his rescue after finding him badly wounded. She used her special blood to save his life and at that point, it took a lot of convincing for her to make JD believe that he was attacked by an evil clone and not the real her.

So once they got that out of the way, it was just a matter of time before Molly would crack the code that would lead them into the server room where she would be able to successfully use the amulet for its intended power.

But things never go as planned when the truly climatic scene for Season 2 came about. Molly came face-to-face with her evil clone and had to square off with herself in order to complete the mission.

If not to make the drama more intense, JD came in on the situation and at the last moment, had to decide which one to shoot and kill. Fortunately, he chose the right target.

Needless to say, the seeds were sufficiently planted to sprout a Season 3 for the show. The TAALR had been able to assume the Humanich form and was last seen ordering coffee at a shop.

Bustle reports that the show has not been picked up for a Season 3 yet, but there is still hope if last year is any indication. Season 2 was not officially announced until Oct. 9 of last year, so that means there is still over a month of leverage to pull the network back in for a junior run on the series.

CBS recently gave "Under the Dome" the axe and with such a gaping hole in its summer schedule, they are likely to leave "Extant" on the schedule to fill in the sci-fi shoes.
