A new trailer video reveals that there will be a lot to look forward to in the third season the "The Originals," including more drama and a war between the Mikaelson siblings and the sire lines.

In the preview video, fans get a glimpse of Hayley, who has been put under a spell that forces her to live as a wolf for the majority of each month, Meanwhile, Elijah appears with baby Hope in fear, while Marcel looks like he is ready to fight. Davina also makes a cameo in the video, although it is unclear why she appears to be bleeding from her eyes.

Back in July, it was reported that the vampire drama has cast "Veronica Mars" alum Jason Dohring to play a new human detective named Will Kinney. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dohring's character will make his debut in the Season 3 premiere on Oct. 8.

Det. Kinney has also been described as a "handsome lawman determined to bring wrongdoers to justice," reports TVLine. In the beginning of the season, he will have no knowledge of the vampire underworld. However, he will gradually become more suspicious and aware of the supernatural activity going on in New Orleans.

During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Julie Plec opened up about Kinney, revealing that "Jason's character is decidedly human." She went on to say that his role adds "a nice breath of fresh air. He plays a detective. There is a crime that happens in the first episode, and he comes in to investigate it. He's working closely with some of our characters. The question is how much does he know or not know about what's going on in the supernatural world? And what's going to happen to him as a result of digging too deep?"

Plec also teased the possibility of the good-natured crime fighter finding love in New Orleans.

"As of right now, he's very firmly focused on getting the job done. But of course [that's as of] episode four; you just never know," she said.

The new season of "The Originals" will premiere on The CW on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 9 p.m. EDT.
