For the first time since the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown, Bobby Brown is publicly sharing the heartbreak of losing the only daughter born to him and Whitney Houston.

"We prayed and hoped for six months ... for something better to happen," People magazine reports he said in the premiere episode of "The Real" talk show, set to air on Monday. "But when God calls you, he calls you."

Bobbi Kristina, 22, died under hospice care in late July, almost six months after being found unresponsive and face down in a bathtub of cold water at the home she shared with boyfriend Nick Gordon.

"I'm pretty sure her mother was ... had a part with like, 'Come on, let's get her up here,'" said Brown. His wife Alicia Etheredge added, "In the best way ... in the welcoming way."

Whitney Houston died just over three years prior to her daughter, when she too was found immersed in a tub of water at the Beverly Hills hotel, where she was staying in preparation for a scheduled Grammy Award show performance.

"She was not comfortable by herself, I guess," Bobby added of his ex-wife. "She just called my daughter with her."

Bobbi Kristina's conservators are now suing Gordon in a multimillion dollar wrongful death filing, which alleges, just before Bobbi Kristina had to be rushed to a hospital emergency room, he gave her a "toxic cocktail" that essentially rendered her defenseless.

The suit also alleges that Gordon regularly physically abused his girlfriend and stole money from her.

Earlier this week, Gordon's lawyers, led by Florida-based Casey Anthony attorney Jose Baez, hit back with a response denying the allegations of abuse and theft.

Bobbi Kristina has since been buried alongside her mom at a New Jersey cemetery. Recently, the family was further outraged to learn that Gordon had visited her grave site and posed for pics that reportedly were sold to a publication for up to $40,000.
