The hottest new show of the 2016 mid-season premieres, DC's "Legends of Tomorrow," has officially started production, and the photos for Hawkgirl and Hawkman have been released, according to Variety.

What's especially unique about the series is that it is bringing in many of the DC superheroes, who have legendary backstories, from their comic brands that fans of many generations have come to love.

Hawkgirl and Hawkman have such an interesting storyline that it will be hard to hit all the angles in the series. But one thing is for sure: They will have all the essential elements in the series.

Those elements include the story that they are doomed eternal lovers, who have been cursed to constantly reincarnate through the ages, which means that their characters must find each other after every incarnation.

Hawkgirl is Kendra Saunders on the show and Hawkman is Carter Hall. They are soul mates, and they both have the ability to access the powers of the hawk god Horus, which gives them their super abilities.

Access Hollywood shared the first pictures of the two together via Twitter. Fans have already seen Hawkgirl, who debuted on the season one finale of "The Flash."

Their official debut together will be on the other DC hit shows on the CW, "Arrow" and "The Flash." "Legends" is considered a spin off of those two shows and will be taking in the canons of both series, which are interconnected themselves. "Legends" producer Marc Guggenheim has also confirmed that the show has officially started production, via a picture on his Twitter account of the pilot script's cover sheet.

TV Line reports that the two will be making their first appearance in an "Arrow/The Flash" crossover event that will be held this fall, ahead of the "Legends" winter premiere. The official launch date for the show has not been disclosed at this time.
