'Fallout 4' Release Date & Gameplay: Excessive Use of Bad Language, Drugs Lead to 'M' Rating
Mature content or "M" is what the video game "Fallout 4" received from the ESRB due to its excessive use of foul language and implication of drug use in the game concept.
According to Attack of the Fan Boy, the "M" rating is strictly for ages 17 up. The full description of the rating has also been featured on the website, but to mention some of what was cited, the game actually promoted the use of drugs and weapons that result to violent combats as well as dealing with a lot of blood and gore scrimmage.
Dubbed by Windows Central as a "drug-fuelled and blood bath" video game, the Mature rating will confine "Fallout 4" to older players and will subsequently target no less than 17-year-old gamers.
As indicated by the ESRB, the content descriptors put the "Fallout 4" game under descriptions "Blood and Gore, Sexual Content, Intense Violence, Strong Language and the Use of Drugs."
In "Fallout 4's" rating summary, it was profiled as a game containing extreme violence that features blood trails, dismemberment and blood sprays. The sexual content indicated were mere suggestions based on what transpired in the game, but there were no actual sexual acts in the video. The ESRB also indicated the existence of male and female prostitutes is an eventual happening in "Fallout 4."
Its fictional use of illicit drugs was pointed out on some conversations wherein the use of drugs were hidden under codenames such as chems, day trippers, cracked out junkies and degenerate.
Dissecting more on its violent concept, players are bound to conquer their enemies using laser hammers, sledgehammers, knives and chainsaws. These alone will likely form the imagination of a gory combat concept.
Previously, "Fallout 4" received several negative ratings when their graphics turned out to be less than what the fans expected, but they still reigned the charts after Bethesda poured their talent and time on the game.
Common Sense Media took on the responsibility to warn parents about the game's influence on their children, citing the excessive presence of blunt weapons, prostitutes, gambling, drug consumption and alcohol.
Despite the game concept of racism, gangs and hatred, the player still has the ability to control its character on the video, opting not to use drugs or alcohols as well as indulging in prostitute offers. The violent act of killing enemies is a given.
According to Attack of the Fanboy, "Fallout 4" will be available on Nov. 10 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
