Tess Daly on 'Strictly Come Dancing 2015' vs 'X-Factor UK' Competition: 'Bring It On'
"Strictly Come Dancing" is being pitted against "The X-Factor UK" after the dance show gained more television views during its new season opening on Sept. 5.
Rumor has it that "The X-Factor" mogul Simon Cowell is banking on Louis Tomlinson to bring his show up the charts. However, "Strictly Come Dancing" host Tess Daly is not afraid of the competition, and even taunted the ITV show to "bring it on."
Daly told The Sun that she is not worried about the competition at all and is not afraid of the shake-ups that may come with the show rivalry.
"Bring it on! Every year it's the same with people trying to shake you up, but I'm not worried one bit. This year it's going to be dynamite. I think The X Factor will be great but, believe me, Strictly will be the show you will want to watch," she said.
To bring even more hype to the BBC dance show, Daly revealed there will be surprise and "treats for the ladies" in the show, coming from its lineup of dancers. The "Strictly Come Dancing" presenter voted on Peter Andre's muscular physique as one of the said treats.
"I'm betting that Peter Andre's six-pack has an outing very early on in the show!" she told The Sun.
Daly also revealed how she's already enjoying the show, with dance rehearsals and the overall camaraderie from the professional dancers and their celebrity partners.
"It's a great atmosphere already. Claud and I have been absolutely leaping about because we're loving it so much," she told The Sun of her rehearsals with co-host Claudia Winkleman.
Daly's statements reportedly came after Simon underestimated the power of the show's lineup of dancers last month. Mirror UK quoted Cowell when he said, "The talent is great, they're interesting, so if it's us versus Peter Andre, I'm going to put my money on us."
However, former "The X-Factor UK" judge Louis Walsh has his bets high on "Strictly Come Dancing" when it comes to views this year. Walsh reportedly thinks Cowell is underestimating the lineup, which includes Irish singer Daniel O'Donnell, who he believes is great for the BBC show's ratings.
"I don't think Simon knows how popular Daniel is. I wouldn't bet on X Factor beating Strictly because with Daniel and Peter Andre it's going to be amazing," Walsh told Mirror UK.
