At the red carpet premiere of season 2 of "Empire" singer Becky G dished on her guest role and what's to come this season.

In early August, it was announced Becky G would be guest starring on season 2 of "Empire." While the show is about musicians, the young star explained that she wouldn't be playing herself, but instead a new character, reported Entertainment Weekly.

"Well, I play Valentina, and let's just put it this way: they were calling me baby Cookie on set," explained the singer. "I'm feisty. Like, the Becky G that's right here and sweet and excited? Valentina is a totally different person. And that was so fun for me to play, because I love acting and I have yet to really pursue that until this opportunity came along and I felt in my gut that it was right and I just wanted to go for it."

The singer originally wasn't planning on auditioning for the role, since she knew nothing about it, but Fox brought up the opportunity, and the 18-year-old went for it.

The "Break A Sweat" singer also revealed that the show will be featuring a lot more drama that will leave fans very excited.

"There's a lot of drama," said the star. "In these next few episodes -- and even stuff that I'm not going to be in but I was reading in the script -- I was like 'I can't believe this is going to go down. Everybody's going to be so surprised.' But yeah, especially my scenes, for sure."

According to E! Online, additional guest stars this season include some of music's biggest stars like Kelly Rowland, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Pitbull and Ludacris, as well as actors Chris Rock, Vivica A. Fox, Marisa Tomei and more.

Season 2 of "Empire" premieres Sept. 23 on Fox.
