Led by League of United Latin American Citizens members, thousands of protesters are expecting to take to the streets in downtown Dallas on Monday as a way of voicing their opposition to rising Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The Dallas Morning News reports the GOP front-runner is slated to be in town for a rally at the American Airlines Center, but before he is able to utter a single word, he will be subjected to a few choice ones by demonstrators prepared to "dump the Trump."

"The reason for the march is very clear," said LULAC council No. 102 president Domingo Garcia. "Donald Trump has become a very divisive and very intolerant figure in American politics."

Among some of Trump's most recent statements, the group is most opposed to his boast that it would take him less than two years to deport all illegal immigrants from the U.S. and build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border to keep them out.

"That's a message that we believe needs to be countered," said Garcia. "Especially here in Texas, which has had a bi-cultural, bilingual history since the beginning of its foundation."

With tickets to the arena, which has a capacity of 20,000, selling out as early as Friday, Trump is expected to have more than a few supporters of his own on hand. But the number of Trump's supporters has only inspired Garcia to stage an even more powerful anti-Trump demonstration of his own.

According to Garcia, the march has received support from Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, State Sen. Royce West, Dallas City Councilman Adam Medrano, Dallas Independent School District board member Miguel Solis, Dallas County Schools trustee Omar Narvaez, and members of the Tejano Democrats and LULAC.
