Latino Voters Rally Against Donald Trump, Clash With Supporters
Hundreds of Latinos protested against Donald Trump's immigration policy ideas after his downtown Dallas rally.
Protesters filled the parking lot at the American Airlines Center sports arena on Tuesday evening, where they clashed with supporters. "Shame on you!" protesters shouted, while supporters shouted back, "Keep them out!"
During his rally, supporters cheered Trump on while he demanded that America stop undocumented immigrants from entering the United States. "It's a massive problem," the business mogul explained.
"They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime, they're bringing rapists," Trump said regarding the millions of undocumented immigrants that cross the U.S.-Mexico border each year.
The billionaire vows to deport 11 million undocumented immigrants, should he win the ticket to the Oval Office.
After launching his presidential campaign and referring to the majority of Mexican immigrants as "rapists" and "killers," Trump has risen in the polls, gaining national support from future voters. Yet, recent polls show that he is starting to dwindle down, mostly losing support from Latino voters, a demographic that is predicted to hold most of the voting power by 2016.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden defeated Trump in a recent MSNBC, Telemundo and Marist poll. The same poll showed Latinos hold an overall negative view of Trump.
The billionaire is viewed as being harmful to the Republican Party, and Latino voters say he is insulting and offensive. Seventy percent of Latinos hold negative views of Trump while 60 percent hold "very negative" views of him. Sixty-five percent of Latinos say he is hurting the Republican Party image, while only 13 percent say he is helping the GOP.
