The latest iPhone 6 rumors include not just the ongoing news that its screen size will be bigger but it will feature a high end kind of display technology.

Numerous tech news sites have been making reports on how Apple would possibly adopt the Quantum dots technology for a much improved display for the upcoming flagship phone, Business Insider states.

Quantum dots are defined as nanocrystals that are made out of semiconductors that are tuned to release certain light frequencies in a particular screen. This is what renders the more accurate colors in a display compared to what the LED or LCD can produce, IBT explains.

In addition, the Cupertino tech giant has also revealed numerous patents that are related to how Quantum dots can be used in displays. They even addressed an instance when the mentioned technology has been used by Kindle Fire HDX which led to a light bleed issue according to Arstechnica. The website Patently Apple also recently described four Apple patent applications that showed how the tech company is aiming for a superb retina display with the use of the Quantum dots technology. Then it was in December 2013 when Apple Insider mentioned a report which describes how Apple has been constantly researching to improve the displays that are enhanced by Quantum dots.

On other iPhone 6 speculations, the upcoming flagship phone's most likely release date may have to skip summer and aim for a fall release. This is all based from the CEO of GT Advanced Technologies which partnered with Apple as supplier for the highly anticipated Sapphire products as of late last year.

Moreover, Forbes wrote that another of GT's statements have also somehow confirmed that it will certainly make the sapphire crystal material for the Apple iPhone.

The much awaited iPhone 6 may come later than expected but could anything be worse if the sapphire crystals are assured?
