Toshiba Click 10 Review: A Tablet, Laptop Combination at an Affordable Price
Toshiba has an answer to the Microsoft Surface 3 and it's cheaper.
The Toshiba Click 10 is a combination tablet and laptop that is 30 percent smaller and 50 percent lighter than a traditional laptop, CNet reports.
The 10.1-inch Click 10 runs Windows 10 and costs $349. The Surface 3 starts at $499. Adding the keyboard cover adds another $130. The Click 10 comes with the detachable keyboard that is plugged in to a single connector when attached.
The Click 10 weighs just 1.2 pounds when the keyboard is removed and is a thin 0.36 inches thick. Adding the keyboard only increases the weight to 2.2 pounds, similar to the weight of the Surface 3 with the Type Cover attached.
The screen on the Click 10 offers a 1,900 x 1,200 pixel resolution. When the keyboard is attached, two more USB ports are added. Without the keyboard, the tablet offers a microSD slot, a mini-HDMI port and a headphone jack.
Inside of the Click 10 is a 64-bit Intel Atom X5 processor and 2 GB of RAM. Customers can choose from 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage. The Click 10 also offers two cameras, one on the front and one on the rear. The rear-facing camera is 8 megapixels (MP) and the front-facing camera is 2 MP.
Toshiba customized the Click 10 for use with Windows 10. The voice assistant Cortana will be able to hear users' voices better with multi-directional microphones. There will even be a dedicated Cortana button for easy access to her. The microphones will also help Skype and video chat sessions.
Toshiba said that the Click 10 will come pre-installed with the full suite of Microsoft Office apps.
The Click 10 is already available from Toshiba through their website. It can also be purchased at select retailers. The 32 GB model will cost $349 and the 64 GB model will cost $369. Both models will come with Intel Integrated Graphics. Ordering the Click 10 from Toshiba's website will take about two weeks for the laptop to ship.
