The hotly anticipated "The Divergent Series: Allegiant" unveiled a new trailer, giving the fans of the big screen adaptation their first look at the upcoming film.

Tris' journey throughout the films has been a long and arduous one, and the first part of the new teaser paid tribute to that with clips of her transformation from being part of a meek Abegnation community to leading a crew of Divergents.

When the group emerges beyond the wall of their post-apocalyptic Chicago, they are stunned to find a greater world outside. New cast member Jeff Daniels greets her warmly at the end of the clip telling Tris, "You saved the city. Help me save the world."

The engrossing trailer is less than two minutes long, but it teased the fans with enough flashes to get excited for the next installment of the lauded franchise.

Recently, a report from MTV revealed that the final two films of the series have been renamed. Instead of being called "The Divergent Series: Allegiant - Part 1," the 2016 installment will be dubbed "The Divergent Series: Allegiant." The last film of the franchise will go from being "Allegiant - Part 2" to a catchier "The Divergent Series: Ascendant."

Although both films will still be based on the final book in the Veronica Roth trilogy, the renaming of the films allows the two chapters to stand on its own as movies.

In the author's Tumblr account, she addressed the name change and the tweaks it may mean for the film's plotline.

Roth wrote, "Well, basically, it means there are going to be some changes, but it's really too early to know exactly what those changes will be or the extent of them. I know changes always make fans of the books - and the author! - nervous, but hopefully the characters we know (and love. Or sometimes love to hate?) will still be intact, which is really the important thing. I am eager to see how these movies turn out, along with you guys."

The first two films were blockbuster hits and the third is set up to continue the winning streak with most of the cast coming back to reprise their roles including Golden Globe nominee Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer and the Academy Award nominee Naomi Watts. Also returning are Ray Stevenson, Zoë Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, Keiynan Lonsdale, Jonny Weston, Mekhi Phifer and Daniel Dae Kim.

New cast members will make the lineup even stronger such as Golden Globe nominee Jeff Daniels, Nadia Hilker and Bill Skarsgård.

"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" is slated to hit theaters on March 18, 2016. The last movie, "The Divergent Series: Ascendant," will be released on March 24, 2017.
