NBA 2K14 has distanced itself from other sports video games in that it is introducing new games modes and features in a revolutionary way that we have never seen before.

Part of this can be attributed to the way 2K Sports has allowed people to incorporate user-submitted modifications, something that is still rather new to mainstream games in general. Perhaps the most notable user-submitted mod that we have seen is the most recent one -- a particular game mode that allows you to play with the Space Jam characters in what is a blast from the past. It takes gamers on a journey back to the mid 1990s when Space Jam was the coolest movie ever.

NBA 2K14 has also changed in that it is both more realistic and more arcade-like at the same time. Thus, users now have more opportunities to choose whichever one they prefer -- from cartoon-like Space Jam mods to the incredibly realistic regular game made that even penalizes you for swearing at your game console.

The popular sports video game has sold very well since it was released in October on the PS3 and Xbox 360 before finally coming out on the next-gen consoles in November, when the platforms were released. Reports have indicated that NBA 2K14 has sold in the top 10 charts among all games on the market, which is rare considering that sports games do not always make it to the top of the charts since they are released so often.

LeBron James is the cover athlete for the game and the star is shown doing his signature pregame ritual. Even the trailers for the game heavily emphasized King James and showed how realistic he looks with the game's new and improved graphics.
