When you're about to lose something, it becomes the most important thing in the world. Such is the case with Robin Thicke, who -- according to reports -- desperately tried to save his failing relationship with actress Paula Patton when it became clear that he was about to lose her.

According to Bonnie Fuller's Hollywood Life, just before Patton filed for divorce, Thicke canceled a scheduled concert in Atlanta on Feb. 21 and flew to Vancouver to try to work things out with his wife. Although Thicke, at the time, said the cancelation was for "medical reasons," the truth of the matter was, he had just received word that his wife was filing for divorce, and he was desperate to change his wife's mind about the matter.

In addition, according to TMZ, Robin and Paula had a long, face-to-face talk at that time... where they both were forced to acknowledge that they weren't getting along, and were frequently getting into arguments. In addition, the couple were forced to confront the problems that were plaguing their relationship -- the disrespectful VMA's "dance" with Miley Cyrus, the "grab ass" photo with the "socialite," the smooching of the "mystery woman" not named Paula in Paris -- and Robin's spiraling-out-of-control ego (which separate reports have confirmed has come as an end result of the success of "Blurred Lines") have all contributed to the demise of their 22-year long relationship.

At the age of 14, Robin Thicke first met actress Paula Patton in 1991 at an under-21 hip-hop club called Balistyx (co-founded and co-hosted by David Faustino) on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, when he asked her to dance. According to Thicke, he sang Stevie Wonder's "Jungle Fever" to her as they danced. (Classy, Robin... JUST CLASSY...) Thicke began dating Patton at the age of 16. They were married in 2005, and have a son, Julian Fuego Thicke, born April 6, 2010. Thicke and Patton split in February 2014.
