EPL Rumors: Jurgen Klopp Eyeing Bayern Munich Gig? Ex-Dortmund Boss Won't Move to England?
Jurgen Klopp is continuously being linked to a move to the English Premier League, but the former Borussia Dortmund coach is reportedly playing a waiting game.
According to Daily Mail, Klopp is open to moving to England. The veteran manager was linked to Manchester City last summer and is continuously being mentioned as a possible successor to Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.
However, Klopp is not ready to make the move anytime soon because he is monitoring the situation in Germany, knowing that there will be major coaching changes after the current season. Daily Mail sources revealed that the 48-year-old manager is looking at the possibility of coaching Bayern Munich.
The Bayern Munich gig is reportedly on top of his options, as previous reports indicated that the German powerhouse club could decide to make changes after the current Bundesliga season.
Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola is expected to handle the club for the entire 2015-16 season, but his future remains unclear because he has not signed a new deal with the club. Guardiola, who is also being linked to several Premier League and Spanish La Liga clubs, has declined to talk about his future in numerous interviews.
Earlier this month, Klopp, who handled Borussia Dortmund from 2008 until he was replaced by Thomas Tuchel in April, said that he is not plotting his next move yet.
"I don't know where I'll be heading to," Klopp told Bild via Daily Mail. "But right now, that's not important for me. I know that if I will have the right feeling it will be a wonderful next chapter. You will see what happens and I find it exciting right now not knowing what will happen next."
Despite the fact that he is being linked to top-tier clubs in Europe, Klopp, a high-profile manager, hinted that he is also open to the challenge of handling an emerging program.
"It doesn't have to be an absolute top club," Klopp said, referring to his next destination. "There are other good projects that are exciting, who need help. I inform, read and meet a lot of people - there are ordinary little things that are great fun."
Klopp helped Borussia Dortmund win the Bundesliga title in 2011 and 2012 and also led his club to a runner-up finish during the 2012-13 UEFA Champions League. The 2011 and 2012 Germany Football Manager of the Year also had a seven-year stint with FSV Mainz 05 from 2001-2008 before moving to Borussia Dortmund.
