‘Street Fighter 5' PS4 & PC Trailer: Karin To Return, More Characters Confirmed [Video]
Capcom is making sure the upcoming "Street Fighter V" will hold up to the series' stellar reputation. To draw in the fighting game loyalists, they are updating their playable roster to include some returning favorites.
According to a report from Game Spot, "Street Fighter V" will mark the return of Karin Kanzuki, who has only previously logged in one appearance as a playable character in the series, when she became part of the successful "Street Fighter Alpha 3." The announcement was made during Capcom's presentation at the Tokyo Game Show.
Despite Karin only appearing in one game so far, a Capcom representative said the fighter was the top pick in a Japanese poll that showed which characters fans wanted to see in "Street Fighter V," according to a report in IGN.
The official release from the Capcom website revealed that the Karin is a young heiress with a privileged life that "led to her high-maintenance attitude and razer-sharp wit."
"But behind her flowing golden locks lies a true martial artist obsessed with upholding her family motto, 'In all things be victorious!'" the description continued. "Karin is well versed in numerous martial arts, which she and her family combined to create a unique 'Kanzuki style' of fighting."
In the new "Street Fighter V," fans of the character will be glad that Karin is designed to be a well-rounded fighter. Her extensive skills and moves allow players a wide variety of choice attacks, and her speed will likely make her a good fighter to go up against the game's best.
Also recently revealed as part of the growing "Street Fighter V" roster is Rashid, a Middle Eastern fighter who draws on his parkour skills to gain an edge over his opponent. The teaser video for Rashid was released the past week and showcased the aggressive, fluid nature of his gameplay.
Other characters who are joining Karin and Rashid in the upcoming fighting game are Nash, M. Bison, Birdie, Cammy, Ken, Necalli, Vega and R. Mika.
Along with new characters, Capcom also unveiled their plans to launch the "Capcom Fighters Network" or CFN. The release said that it will be set up as "a community building tool that will be directly built into the online infrastructure of 'Street Fighter V'." With the CFN, players will be able to see where current battles are being staged all over the world, view and follow player profiles, watch replays and send challenges, among others.
"Street Fighter V" for PlayStation 4 and PC will be launched in spring 2016.
