An exciting episode awaits the fans of "iZombie" this season 2, especially since it teases about the side effects of Ravi's discovered cure.

The synopsis for the "Grumpy Old Liv" episode, which will air on Oct.6 as the show's season 2 opener, was released by The CW Network via Comic Book:

"Liv (Rose McIver) consumes the brains of a cantankerous old man to help gain insight into his death. After receiving an anonymous call on the tipster hotline, Liv and Detective Babineaux [sic] (Malcolm Goodwin) stop by the residence of Byron Thistlewaite (guest star Adam Rose), to question the mysterious caller. Meanwhile, Ravi (Rahul Kohli) suspects that Major (Robert Buckley) might be experiencing a side effect of the cure, and Liv pays Blaine (David Anders) a surprise visit. Michael Fields directed the episode written by Rob Thomas (#201)."

Guest actor Adam Rose reportedly appeared on "Veronica Mars."

An eventful season opener

From the summary, it will be an intense episode with Liv's ex-fiancé, Major, possibly showing adverse effects of Ravi's invention, which Liv injected to him. On last season's finale, Liv turned Major into a zombie to save his life, but changed him back into a human when Major voiced his strong reaction against her decision despite her good intentions. What could be the side effects of the cure, which is Liv's only hope to become human again?

Meanwhile, Liv will also visit the person who turned her into a Zombie, Blaine. Will it be because Ravi tells Liv that Major is experiencing these unusual reactions from the cure, which Blaine also got injected with, through Liv? Or will it be for another reason? That will be interesting to find out, especially because Blaine is a really devious character to begin with. Perhaps, Liv plans to kill him again this time, like when she tried last season, but failed, costing her beloved Lowell's life (Bradley James).

Fans will also know what is Blaine's new business as teased by the show's executive producer Robert Thomas on TV Line.

On top of Major's worries about the cure, he might get another dilemma, with Clive investigating further in the "Meat Cute" case he is involved with, as shared by Thomas.

Aside from these events, the episode will let the fans know if Liv's brother, Evan (Nick Purcha), get to survive even though she refused to give him blood.

Still, with the given title of the episode, it will show the fans an adorable Liv portraying a cranky old man, as seen in next season's trailer shared by iZombie's Twitter account.
