'Jane The Virgin' Season 2 Spoilers: Actress Andrea Navedo Talks About Xo and Rogelio's Relationship, Will Their Marriage Last?
It's safe to assume that Xiomara and Rogelio will experience a fair share of drama in their relationship in Season 2 of "Jane the Virgin."
As fans can recall, Jane's parents, Xiomara (aka Xo) and Rogelio, eloped while they were drunk in Last Vegas in the Season 1 finale. Meanwhile, Jane finally delivered a healthy baby boy named Mateo, but her newborn baby was soon kidnapped by Sin Rostro. Plus, Petra took Rafael's swimmers home from the fertility clinic.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, series star Andrea Navedo said that her character, Xo, and Jaime Camil's Rogelio were in Las Vegas for their show when they decided to get married in a drunken stupor. She also previewed that a Cher impersonator officiated their wedding.
"There's got to be some focus on that in the first few episodes," Navedo told EW at People's Ones to Watch Party in Los Angeles on Wednesday. "It's pretty funny how they handle it," she teased.
The actress also said that she hopes the marriage will last between Jane's parents and that they can stay together despite their troubled history.
"I don't know how far that storyline is going to go, but I personally am very invested in Xo and I believe that she does truly love Rogelio and she wants and desires in her entire being to be truly loved back and cherished -- and she deserves it," Navedo said.
Navedo also previewed that the kidnapping of baby Mateo will reveal Jane's strength as a new mother and a woman.
"You're going to see how fierce Jane is as a mom, and it's a beautiful thing how any mother would step up and do whatever she has to do for her kid. It's really admirable how they handle the whole situation with the kidnapping."
Season 2 of "Jane the Virgin" will premiere on Monday, Oct. 12 EDT on The CW.
