Another one of DC Comics' multi-faceted characters will be showing up on the television screen for "Supergirl". Red Tornado, a powerful android created by Professor T.O. Morrow, is set to make Kara Zor-El's life a little bit more complicated and a first peek at his character was revealed ahead of the show's release date.

According to a report from Comic Book Resources, the first image of actor Iddo Goldberg was released by Warner Bros. describing the android as "the most advanced android the world has ever seen. Designed by scientist T.O. Morrow for the U.S. Army as the ultimate super weapon, he soon becomes sentient, posing a grave danger to National City - including the people Supergirl cares about most."

Goldberg, known for his work in "Salem," is unrecognizable in the photo as the comic book's complicated character. Although not much has been revealed about the plot of the android, Goldberg will be playing both Red Tornado and Professor T.O. Morrow, an interesting detail that may lead to a twist in the canon storyline.

The actor joins an impressive roster led by Melissa Benoist as Supergirl or Kara Zor-El. Other cast members include Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra "Alex" Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow "Winn" Schott, David Harewood as Hank Henshaw and Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant.

Already amassing a sizeable following ahead of its initial release date, "Supergirl" is one of the most anticipated premieres on television this fall. The growing cast is one of the reason for the show's popularity and its helmed by Benoist, who nabbed her first lead role and talked about her character in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"Kara is so optimistic, and so positive, and just full of hope all the time," Benoist shared in the interview. "My tendency can sometimes be 'Oh, man, if I were in this situation, I'd feel hopeless.' But she never feels that. There's never really a horribly dark moment in Supergirl's life."

It's likely to boost the actress' confidence that the whole team is on her side. "Supergirl" show runner Ali Adler has complete faith in Benoist's portrayal of the iconic superhero.

"She is going to change the way girls feel about themselves with her energy and her light," Adler told Entertainment Weekly during the same interview. "It's crazy. She's going to fly."

"Supergirl" is slated to release its first episode on Oct. 26 on CBS.
