iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus: Walk-in Purchases to Be Available For iPhone 6s, Apple Says
Customers who have not preordered the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will still be able to walk into stores and purchase one Friday.
Apple revealed in a press release Monday that these walk-in customers should arrive early for Friday's launch of the iPhone 6s if they hope to get their hands on the new device, Apple Insider reports. .
The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available in the U.S. from the carriers of AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless. In addition to being available at Apple Stores on Friday, both iPhones will be available at carrier stores and authorized retailers.
"Customer response to the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus has been incredibly positive, we can't wait to get our most advanced iPhones ever into customers' hands starting this Friday," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
Apple said that the new iPhones would be available by reservation only to customers in China, Hong Kong, Japan, and U.S. stores located in tax-free states. Sales of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will begin at 8 a.m. local time.
Starting Saturday, customers will be able to visit Apple.com to reserve the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus and then pick it up at an Apple Store. Apple Stores will also have a limited supply of the devices available for walk-in customers.
The launch of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus this Friday will reach 12 countries, including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, the U.K., and the U.S. The 2014 launch of the iPhone 6 only debuted in nine countries and did not include China.
The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are expected to exceed last year's iPhone 6 launch and set a new sales record. The first weekend of the iPhone 6 saw 10 million units of the phone sold.
