The Dallas Cowboys lost starting quarterback Tony Romo to a fractured left clavicle in the 20-10 win against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Cowboys confirmed the injury via their official website saying that owner Jerry Jones does not know when his star quarterback will return.

"It's just too early at all. I just don't have any idea tonight. We keep saying that bone takes six weeks, but there's some ligaments there that may or may not be necessary to move around to help the healing process. If it's not necessary, then it could very easily not require surgery. But I'm merely speculating. I don't know," Jones said via another report from their website.

Romo confirmed on Twitter that no surgery is needed for his injury. ESPN reports that he will miss approximately eight weeks and a total of seven regular season games. The 35-year-old quarterback may return against the Miami Dolphins on Nov. 22 or against the Carolina Panthers on Nov. 26.

Dallas depend on backup quarterback Brandon Weeden as their starter for the next games as they look for a possible backup for him via free agency. Currently, they have Kellen Moore in their practice squad as a candidate inside the team.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has a suggestion for the Cowboys on who should they sign while Romo recovers, Tim Tebow. He posted on Twitter after Dallas defeated the Eagles that maybe, the Cowboys will sign the former Heisman Trophy winner.

The same Eagles team released Tebow from their 53-man roster a week before the 2015 season started and he has not been on an NFL roster during the season since playing for the New York Jets in 2012, as reported by Bleacher Report. The 28-year-old quarterback returned to ESPN as a college football analyst for the SEC Network.

As for the Cowboys, their official website also reports that four veteran quarterbacks, Matt Flynn, Josh Johnson, Christian Ponder and McLeod Bethel-Thompson, will work out with the team. Flynn has spent some time with the Seattle Seahawks, Oakland Raiders, Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills. He was released by the New York Jets before the start of the season.

Johnson has appeared in a total of 29 games in his career, starting five of them and spent the preseason with Cincinnati but did not make the 53-man roster. Bethel-Thompson had as short time with the Vikings in 2012 and has been part of the practice squads in Miami, Minnesota, New England and San Francisco.

Ponder is from Dallas. He was the 12th overall pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2011. His career started from 2011 to 2014 for the Vikings, completing 59.8 percent of his passes for 6,650 total yards.
