Carly Fiorina on Tonight Show: Republican Candidate Sings, Discusses Faith [Video]
Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina showed off her lighter side during her appearance on NBC's "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Monday night.
Late night show host Jimmy Fallon managed to convince the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard to break out into song at the end of her interview.
"You sing songs to your grandkids," he said.
Fiorina agreed to sing a song about her two dogs, Snickers and Max, to the tune of Rock Around the Clock.
"My name is Snick, and I'm lazy, please don't take a walk with me," Fiorina sang.
Before showing off her singing skills, the 2016 hopeful talked about her Christian faith and Pope Francis. She also joked about Russian President Vladimir Putin and GOP front-runner Donald Trump, saying, "[They] have a lot in common, actually. But we'll just leave it at that."
When asked to respond to 2016 presidential contender Ben Carson's remarks that a Muslim should not be president, Fiorina said, "I think that's wrong."
She added, "It says in our Constitution that religion cannot be a test for office."
The former tech company executive went on to describe the role that her Christian faith has played in her life, especially during her battle with cancer and losing a step-child.
"I actually believe people of faith make better leaders. My faith has sustained me through some very bad times," she said. "I lost a child. I've been tested. But whether it's a person of Christian faith or Jewish faith or Muslim faith or other faiths, I think faith gives us humility, empathy and optimism, and I think those are important things."
The GOP candidate also talked about Pope Francis' upcoming visit to the U.S., saying, "I don't agree with him on all his politics for sure, but I certainly admire how he is trying to break down the bureaucracy of the church in a lot of ways and go back to serving the poor and helping people."
