Azealia Banks Airplane Meltdown: Rapper Goes Ballistic on Flight Attendant
Azealia Banks had a meltdown in first class, lashing out at an attendant with a vulgar slur, while on a Delta Airlines flight from New York City to Los Angeles on Monday night.
The 24-year-old rapper lashed out at a flight attendant during a heated tirade, even going so far as to use a homophobic slur. As Banks was trying to exit the plane, she viciously called the attendant a "f*ck*ng f*gg*t."
Another passenger on the plane reported to TMZ that, when Banks wasn't able to deboard from the plane as it landed just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning, she immediately became irritated and disruptive.
Once the plane landed, she rushed for the exit, but there was a French couple blocking her pathway. As Banks attempted to squeeze by the couple, the French man held his out hand, while he and his travel partner were getting their luggage from the overhead bin.
At this point, the rapper became erratic, spitting in the man's face, punching him and clawing at his shirt, an eyewitness reports.
After her hostile outburst, a male flight attendant grabbed Banks' bags and asked her to relax. She reacted by insulting him and claiming the French gentleman put his hand in her face.
After Banks fled from the plane, she was later informed the police had been contacted.
"I don't tolerate b*tch-*ssness and I don't tolerate men putting their hands on me," Banks said following the incident.
The French couple involved in the incident decided not to press charges, due to the fact they were on vacation and didn't want to be bothered.
Banks is known for getting into controversial spats with others, especially celebrities, such as Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Baauer, Pharrell Williams, Eminem and, most notably, Iggy Azalea.
Banks released her debut studio album "Broke with Expensive Taste" on Nov. 7, 2014. The album produced the singles "Yung Rapunxel," "Heavy Metal and Reflective," "Chasing Time" and "Ice Princess."
