Fans of "Bones" can look forward to a brand new exciting season next month that will begin with Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) giving up their peaceful lives in early retirement to return to the Jeffersonian Institution.

As fans may recall, the married couple decided to trade in their crime-fighting careers at the Jeffersonian for an alternative lifestyle during the Season 10 finale. At the beginning of Season 11, viewers will find Booth and Brennan living peacefully with their new son and non-dangerous job positions. However, their lives will be dramatically upended when Booth goes missing.

Something will also lure them back to the Jeffersonian. But when they return, Brennan will learn who has taken over the facility in her place.

"Arastoo is the main intern who has taken over," teased new showrunner Michael Peterson, according to Entertainment Weekly. "He's really filled in for Brennan in her absence. Eventually Brennan will come back, but what that means for Cam and Arastoo is very interesting."

Earlier this year, Peterson revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Booth will be gone at the beginning of the new season due to a family-related issue and that his disappearance will revolve around a family crisis.

"It's a very personal reason. It's a family reason. He gets involved in something that's very close to home and is probably the only thing that would pull him away from the tranquil life that he was leading up until that moment," Peterson told TVLine.

To help find Booth, the team will recruit a FBI special agent named Grace Miller, played by "24" alum Kim Raver. She will be featured in the first two episodes of the season, assisting in the investigation surrounding Booth's disappearance, reports TVLine.

However, by the second episode, which is titled "The Brother in the Basement," the team will discover that Raver's character has not been forthcoming about information to help rescue Booth.

According to SpoilerTV, the synopsis reads as follows:

"Another layer is added to the mystery of Booth's whereabouts and the state of his physical condition when the team learns that FBI Agent Miller (guest star Kim Raver) has not been entirely truthful with the FBI and the Jeffersonian, keeping vital information from them that could lead them to Booth. Meanwhile, the Jeffersonian gets a surprise visitor, FBI digital forensic scientist Dr. Benjamin Metzger (guest star Josh Casaubon), who works with Angela to try to decode the information the team has been able to uncover regarding Booth's location and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. Also, Arastoo makes a major decision that affects his and Cam's personal and professional relationship."

Season 11 of "Bones" will premiere on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
