PS Plus October 2015 Free Games Update: Vote to Play Not Likely, Super Meat Boy, & Rumored AAA PS4 Titles
It's that time of the month again, when PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) members eagerly anticipate another round of free games to download, wondering which titles PlayStation will bequeath on them this time, for October 2015.
The official list has not been released yet, and according to a tweet by EU PlayStation Blog Manager @FredDutton, the free games list won't be released until sometime next week.
Until then, PS Plus venues across the Internet will continue to be abuzz with ideas of which free titles to expect come October 2015. Here are the best guesses picked from PlayStation U.S. forums, Redditors and elsewhere on the world wild web.
One title seems to be a lock, because it's a new game that's the right type of title for a PS Plus selection, and its release date is timed perfectly to match the October 2015 PS Plus free games giveaway: Super Meat Boy.
Super Meat Boy is firstly, an indie game -- perfect for a PS Plus giveaway. It was previously released on Xbox 360 through the Xbox Live Arcade and it was confirmed by PlayStation to have a release date on Oct. 6, 2015. Look for this crazy fun platformer this October, likely on both PS4 and PS Vita.
Other possibilities include Badlands GoY or Grim Fandango Remastered for PS4, PS3 and/or PS Vita. Another possibility is Three Forth Home: Extended Edition, which is slated for the same release date on PS4 and PS Vita as Super Meat Boy.
PS Plus members have been clamoring for another "Vote to Play" option for an indie game -- especially if it's Halloween-themed -- but as we approach next week with no word from Sony, that's getting less and less likely to be a real possibility. Also in the unlikely category are big titles like The Order 1886 or Assassins Creed Black Flag.
After September's less-than-premium PS Plus free game selection, do you think there's any possibility of PlayStation adding any AAA PS4 titles this time around? And what games are you wishing for this October? Sound off in the comments!
