If Tuesday's "humble" $25 million Mega Millions jackpot was not quite enough to get you going, then you're in luck this weekend: No one matched the winning numbers, which means the prize has inched up to $31 million for tonight's drawing. Who gets to take that nifty sum home will be determined at 11 p.m. EDT at the studios of WSB-TV, Atlanta's ABC affiliate.

The unmatched winning numbers from the Sept. 22 drawing were 28, 30, 38, 45 and 51; the Mega Ball number was 8; and the "Megaplier" was 5, according to the game's official website. The relatively low jackpot was the result of the Sept. 11 drawing, in which a lucky player managed to score a nest egg of $106 million, the multi-state lottery recalled.

Tuesday's jackpot remained untouched, as no one matched the winning Mega Millions numbers on that day. In fact, the Sept. 22 drawing produced no new millionaires at all. The lottery reported that no player matched five numbers, which, depending on the Megaplier option, would have yielded between $1 million and $5 million.

A $1 million ticket sold in western Michigan in late May, meanwhile, is still unclaimed, MLive noted. There is no rush yet, however, because the champion has one year to claim the prize; but if he or she does not do so by May 26, 2016, the money will go to Michigan's School Aid Fund, the website detailed.

Mega Millions drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday, and the draw entry closes at 10:45 p.m. EDT. Tickets to the game are sold in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands -- a total of 45 jurisdictions. And while hitting the jackpot is a true feat, the odds of winning any prize are much better at about 1 in 15.
