'Señora Acero' Season 2 Premiere News: Show Ranks as No 1 Spanish-Language Prime-Time Program
"Señora Acero," which premiered Season 2 on Sept. 22 on Telemundo, has ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language prime-time program.
According to TV by the Numbers, the series, which first aired last September and has become one of Telemundo's most highly-rated shows, began its second season with a bang, averaging over 1.4 million viewers ages 18-49 and a total viewership of 2.4 million for its first episode.
The series stars Blanca Soto as the main protagonist Sara Aguilar, a woman whose life spirals out of control because of her husband's (Damián Alcázar) dealings with the cartel and the murder of her father. Sara takes matters into her own hands and becomes involved with some very dangerous people.
In a recent interview, Soto, who has appeared in several films and telenovelas, said that there will be a lot of changes for her character that fans will be interested in seeing, but that have also helped her grow as an actress, reported People En Español.
"It is a very different Sara Aguilar. She is a Sara Aguilar with a complicated evolution, with a very complicated psychology, that is going to bring a lot of surprises," Soto said. "She is a woman that in the first season was very different from me, water and the oil, there are no similarities, the polar opposite."
Lincoln Palomeque, who plays Manuel Caicedo, teased fans with the news that his character will be getting out of jail and turning a new leaf. The actor dished about what viewers can expect to see in Season 2.
"It is a story that comes packed with a big amount of action in every episode. A lot of stuff happens, a good amount of points and dramatic twists and new characters that I know [fans] will like," said Palomeque.
