Motorola DROID Turbo (2015) Release Date & Specs: DROID 2 To Have 'Unbreakable' Screen & 3GB RAM?
If there's one thing you have to understand about smartphones, it has to be their excessive use battery life. According to the VCCF Tech, the DROID Turbo 2 apparently will not have this issue as the new flagship phone by Motorola is fully equipped with a 3,760 mAh battery.
DROID Turbo originally carried the 3,900 mAh battery pack, and while the DROID Turbo 2 may seem to carry a less powerful battery, it is sufficient enough to take on 48 hours of mixed battery use. Where RAM is concerned, nothing is much really expected from the new phone as it will carry the same 3GB of RAM as its predecessor.
The Motorola DROID Turbo 2 will not have the new MediaTek Helio X20 processor, but it will incorporate the SnapDragon 810 SoC processor. Its screen size barely makes the 5.43-inch mark, but will feature a shatterproof display accompanied by a 1440p resolution.
The rear camera of the DROID Turbo 2 will have a 21-megapixel capacity and a five-megapixel front shooter. The unit will hit the market with a 21GB and 64GB internal storage, but hopes of expanding it may be bleak at the moment as no confirmation about a MicroSD slot has been confirmed.
The Motorola DROID Turbo 2 is slated to launch on the Oct. 15 with sales expected to begin by Oct. 29. According to VR-Zone, the Moto Maker will sponsor the DROID brand's first ever online sale with an option of swapping designs within 24 months after the unit is purchased. Although there are no features on what type of designs will be available, consumers can still opt to have their designs changed.
According to Phone Arena, Verizon may also feature some of the back design for the Motorola handsets in order to introduce the designs to consumers. Some of the designs include what they call the Ballistic Nylon design, something that provides better grip on the phone.
As of now, Motorola has two flagship phones available in the market, the "Moto Pure X Edition" and the "Moto 360."
The release of the Motorola DROID Turbo 2 will have to be the next thing to look out for from the U.S.-based company. With a shatterproof screen and metal edge frame, this might be the most durable unit from the brand's DROID line.
