'Super Mario Maker' Update: Nintendo Exec Talks About Adding More Content to Popular Wii U Game
There's no denying that "Super Mario Bros." is one of the most influential video games of all time, and when the chance came for players to be able to create their own levels via the new game "Super Mario Maker," they instantly created thousands of different levels.
However, Game Rant reported that despite the successful venture, some players still found themselves waiting for the next reward to unlock instead of finishing a challenge and head on to the next stop. Nintendo's producer Takeshi Tezuka has a very valid reason for the supposed glitch, saying, "We wanted the rewards to increase as you became more familiar with the game and to look forward to what would unlock the next day."
Apparently, Nintendo is controlling the amount of rewards for the day in order to keep the excitement alive. After all, maximizing the game's capability in just one day will prove to be boring and insignificant for the rest of the time it will exist.
Tezuka also explained that by giving too much reward for the day, players will have a hard time learning the game's concept and may eventually get bored on trying the challenges without actually engrossing themselves to the challenge ahead. "From our testing, we learned that if too much is available all at once many players weren't sure what they should do and didn't have as much fun with the game," he said.
If anything else, learning the whole concept of the game shouldn't be hard for the players as "Super Mario Bros." is a very popular game since the beginning. Nintendo, on the other hand, must create a better option on how to keep the game exciting at the same time content-filled for the experienced players.
Despite the nagging feeling of having to wait up before proceeding, Metro was able to list some of the best levels created on the "Super Mario Maker." What's exciting about the new video is that players are able to play and conquer the levels created by other players in the "Super Mario Maker" game, and, each time, the rank and popularity of a level will increase.
With thousands of levels created, it's hard to actually determine the best, but what could really stand against the crowd will eventually surface and offers its concept to other gamers. Playing a chosen level will also allow a player to either play the level online or download it on their gaming platform.
