Xiaomi Mi 5 Specs & Release Date: New Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-Powered Flagship Coming in December?
Over the past months, the brand Xiaomi has been making rounds on the internet brought by rumors of their new Tablet called the Xiaomi Mi 5.
According to Phone Arena, the rumors have been again revived by news that the Mi 5 may finally be revealed this coming December instead of the formerly announced March 2016 launch date. If rumors are to believed, the Mi 5 will take on a 5.2-inch screen with an added 1080 x 1920 resolution package.
Apparently, the Mi 5 will still have the Snapdragon 820 processor as previously mentioned on leaked specs of the product. It also features 4GB of RAM and will come out of the box in a 32GB and 64GB internal storage. Equipped with a fingerprint sensor and a Type-C USB port, the Mi 5 will also feature a 16-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel secondary camera.
Tablets have been dealing a lot with design competition, and while it may seem a secondary option for other consumers, how a tablet will look like in the market will be the first thing people will notice.
To give an idea of the Mi 5's rumored design; Phone Arena suggests a sleek curve design, similar to that of Samsung Galaxy Note 5's feature. The Mi 5 also features speakers on the bottom part of the handset as well as a metal frame outlook to wrap up the device. It will also carry a 3,080 mAh battery, and despite Google releasing the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the Xiaomi Mi 5 model will come out of the box carrying the Android 5.1.1 lollipop software.
At this moment, Xiaomi officials have not given any confirmed date on when will the Mi 5 be launched and have it available in the market, but with several leak and rumors circulating online, it shouldn't be far before they give details of its date of release.
According to Tech Times, the apparent success of Xiaomi Mi 4 reaching at least 10 million units sold worldwide highly influenced the brand to develop its successor. Xiaomi has also recently announced a price drop in India, cutting off at least $59 dollars in its market price. The price drop has been an initiative by the brand to celebrate the achieved sales goal.
Xiaomi Mi 5, after it was leaked online few months ago, has been the topic of consumers after it took the giant brand one year before venturing on another model.
