Aside from presumably having inferior visuals compared to the PS4 and Xbox One, "Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3" for PS3 and Xbox 360 won't have the campaign mode.

According to the "Call Of Duty" website, Activision pointed out that developers of the upcoming first-person shooter game could not make the game's single-player campaign run properly on older consoles.

The blog post acknowledged that there are a significant number of fans that have yet to switch to the newest console hardware. That is why Beenox and Mercenary Technology, the game's co-developers, put in the extra minutes to deliver as much of the "Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3" gameplay as possible to the PS3 and Xbox 360. However, the game's "truly next-generation experience" have made backwards compatibility close to impossible.

"The Black Ops 3 PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will feature Multiplayer and Zombies gameplay only, not Campaign. The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware," the blog post read.

This latest development is undoubtedly a shocker for PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers, although if given the chance to choose between campaign and multiplayer, most gamers will arguably choose to play the latter.

Other "Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3" features that will be omitted on the game's older console versions are "Weapon Paint Shop," which allows gamers to make ultra-detailed customizations to their set of weapons. Certain "eSports" capabilities of the game will also not be making its way to PS3 and Xbox 360.

As a consolation, older console gamers won't be paying the same amount for "Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3" as their next-gen counterparts. They will only have to pay $50 while gamers on the PS4 and Xbox One will have to cash out $10 dollars more to grab the game.

The single-player campaign mode of "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" follows the story of a squad of covert operatives with superhuman capabilities via their cybernetic weaponry. The game's multiplayer mode lets players choose from one of the nine cybernetic soldiers as they are pitted against other combatants from around the globe.

"Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3" is set to release globally for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC starting Nov. 6.

In the meantime, PS4 gamers can now pre-order the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" PS4 Limited Edition Bundle at Amazon and Best Buy for $449.99. The bundle includes an ember orange and jet black 1TB PS4 console, DualShock 4 controller, and "NUK3TOWN" multiplayer map.
