Vin Diesel has stepped up to announce there will be a final "Fast & Furious" trilogy.

The actor, who has starred in six of the franchise's films, confirmed the release of at least three more films on his Facebook page, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision ... they have been like family," Diesel wrote. "I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga."

This announcement comes days after rumors circulated about how problematic it has been for the crew to start the filming process for "Fast & Furious 8," according to The Hollywood Reporter. While the movie has a tentative release date of April 14, 2017, no director has yet been attached to the film. Diesel has said he "must be consulted on director choices."

"My producing partner Neal [Moritz] would love for me to just sign off on a director, but this is too special a franchise, so these matters have to be very carefully handled," Diesel wrote. "To be clear, NO ONE has been offered to helm Fast 8 yet... let alone seen a script."

Diesel previously brought up the idea of the franchise releasing 10 complete films back in 2013 during an interview for "Fast & Furious 6" with Moviefone.

"I think the debate is whether it's 7, 8, 9 or 7, 8, 9, 10. I know, it doesn't even make sense," the actor said.

In all, Diesel has starred in "The Fast and the Furious" (2001), "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" (2006), "Fast & Furious" (2009), "Fast Five" (2011), "Fast & Furious 6" (2013) and "Furious 7" (2015). The last film also featured Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Kurt Russell, Jason Statham and the late Paul Walker.
