Scary ‘Freak Out’ Videos Start Trending For October, Viewer Discretion Advised [Watch]
One thing that always trends on social networking site YouTube during the October month are short videos, or films, that have a very quick and scary scene present in them.
That season has officially arrived and now, the latest to hit the social networking site has already gotten millions of views. As a matter of fact, at the time this article is being written, it is already at 11.7 million views and growing.
The video is titled "Selfie From Hell" and features that quick scary "freak out" effect that has been so inherent to the October season.
The basic premise behind this short film is that a woman is speaking on the phone to someone, presumably a romantic acquaintance, when she halts the conversation to take a selfie picture of herself. It showed her exposing her cleavage for a more revealing look in the picture.
But after she takes the selfie, she notices something, or someone in the background. This of course scares her and she uses the reverse camera angle to look behind her, seeing nothing.
She eventually takes another selfie and the figure appears again, closer to her. Reluctantly, she investigates and finds nothing. After she seems to convince herself there is no one else in her house, she painstakingly investigates one last area, taking another selfie.
This article will not ruin the finer details of it for you, but suffice it to say, viewer discretion is advised.
Last year, the famous "Lights Out" video became an Internet phenomenon and has actually spurred up enough interest to make a feature film out of it.
There was also a short "found footage" style of video posted that really creeped people out. This was taken from what appeared to be surveillance video in a hotel.
Of course, the "found footage" style played well in another ghostly video that made its rounds last year as well.
